HTC and Major League Baseball partner for Home Run Derby VR Little League
HTC is not only known for its phones but also its stellar virtual reality (VR) headsets. Today, the company announced a collaboration with Major League Baseball, Little League International, and ESPN for a special broadcast of the 2019 Home Run Derby VR Little League Challenge. The Little League Challenge is a VR competitive tournament featuring Home Run Derby VR using Vive Pro and Vive trackers. This year's tournament will feature the players in a four-round, bracket-style tournament in which each competitor will have 90 seconds to hit as many home runs as possible. The broadcast will be produced by MLB, along with its production and logistics partner Engine Shop, and will feature commentary from MLB Network's Jackie Redmond as well as analysis from popular gamers and content creators RealShelfy and Fuzzy. If you're interested, you can watch the event on Twitch today. The broadcast began at 11 AM EDT, but recaps are available on the platform. In addition to the live streams tomorrow, a 30-minute special highlight will air on ESPN and the ESPN app on August 18 at 4 PM EDT.
